Here is a brief overview of The May canal boat operating out of Bradford-on-Avon

 

Design : May offers a high level of comfort and is a 4 star 60 foot long 8 berth Cruiser stern narrowboat, with a versatile layout, so it can be 3 doubles including the sofa bed in the saloon, or 8 singles, so suitable for 2 or 3 couples or family or larger group. It has a quiet water-cooled diesel engine with simple to use controls.

Features : There is full radiator central heating on the boat. A 200 gallon water tank supplies the hot and cold running water. There is carpeting on the cabins and saloon. The stern is a cruiser stern, which gives a reasonably large area for the rear deck, allowing for some of the crew to stand next to the skipper whilst cruising.

Saloon : Saloon located in the middle of the boat, the seating area can be converted into a double or two single beds using the fold-down single in the evening, if required.
Radio/CD player; colour TV/DVD player.

Kitchen : The kitchen is fully equipped and has a 4 burner gas cooker with grill and oven; refrigerator; sink and drainer; saucepans; cooking utensils; crockery and cutlery appropriate for the number of berths. There is plenty of storage space and work surfaces.

Berths : At each end of the boat there is a cabin which can either have a double or 2 or 3 single berths in each (bunk beds + single), and in the saloons the sofa beds converts to a double or 2 singles at night.

Bedding : Freshly laundered bedding is supplied for each crew member, as per your requirements. Additional bedding is available upon request. Towels are also supplied - one medium sized towel per crew member, and one hand towel per bathroom.

Bathroom : There are 2 bathrooms with a wash hand basin, electrically operated flush toilet and shower and a 240v shaver socket.

Electric : 12v mobile phone charging point (please remember to bring your own car charging lead). The 2kw inverter supplies 240v electricity to certain appliances and to a socket on the boat. (Please note: if you decide to use any of your own electrical appliances, you do so at your own risk).

Welcome Pack : A welcome pack is provided, consisting of washing-up liquid (x1); dishcloth (x1); tea towel (x1); floor cloth (x1); toilet roll and bin liner.

Additional Information: Tuition, and buoyancy aids, are supplied free of charge, as are helmsman's waterproofs and an umbrella.
